What are your top 2 issues you'd like to write about?
Issue 1: styles of learning Issue 2: hours in school Out of these two, which are you leaning towards more to write about? I'm leaning more towards the different styles of learning What is the problem? Teachers lecture students as a way of teaching to get information to them. Lectures get boring and sometimes it is hard to follow along and when writing notes you have to write verbatim which can get messy. Why is this problem a problem? (Explain) There are different types of learners, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic who learn best through different methods. Lecturing would be best for the auditory learners and not the visual and kinesthetic. How much do you know about this problem? Include some of these topics or knowledge here. Visual learners grasp the information better by having something to look at or watching something to learn what they have to. Kinesthetic learners grasp the information better when they have hands on lessons and can use some or all of their senses. What do you want to learn about this problem that you don't yet know? Why do teachers use lecturing in the first place? Who does this affect? Does this problem affect you? Does it affect anyone you know? This affects the whole class because if the teacher lectures, and lets say the class is full of visual learners and not auditory then the whole class is not getting the information as they should making it harder to study if they don't understand it. I can not sit and listen to my teachers talk for an hour and a half, I start to get tired and I lose my focus trying to stay awake. What are possible solutions? (think 3-4) Some possible solutions could be making sure the teachers curriculum has at least 2 of the 3 styles of teaching, or ways to approach it in each lesson. For example one day lecture out the main points and the next day show a video of what they had explained the day before. Another one is that the teachers could take a test in the beginning of the year that will determine which type of learning he/she needs to use throughout the year. This would help with if there are more visual or more auditory they could then focus on one or more of the techniques. What solution would actually work? Why is this one something that could work? I think the solution that would actually work is making lessons with more than one style because it is not only benefiting the kids in the specific ways but they are hearing the information more than once. Repetition is key and the more they hear it and the different ways they hear and or see it can help them fully process what needs to be processes. Who are the two people you are thinking about interviewing? What's your reasoning behind these interview choices? I am going to be interviewing my friend Taylor Sharpe because she wants to become a teacher and I want to see her views on how things should be taught. The next person I am going to interview is my neighbor Jackie because she was a first grade teacher before she retired and im sure she has a lot of things she can tell me about it.

I agree with the issue you picked and how you explained that there are different kind of learners. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2017/07/11/it-puts-kids-to-sleep-but-teachers-keep-lecturing-anyway-heres-what-to-do-about-it/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.2c2aa966cf09
